Junip

Yesterday was Matt’s 31st birthday. After tying one on at The Hole in the Wall at the Leidseplein, we went to see Junip perform at Melkweg (Milky Way). Mark Hamilton of Calgary’s Woodpigeon opened the show and played a tribute to Jack Layton. Nice to hear it so far from Canada.

Junip were terrific, aided by a bit of sipped weed. We met a young Irish guy with a busted arm named Jack and went for a pint with him afterward, talked about the universe underneath the billowy tarps in the square. Also hit up Crispy King for Oorlog (french fries covered in mayo and peanut sauce) and ran into Hamilton, whom we thanked.

Finally stumbled in at around 1:30. Woke up with a bruise on my chest. No idea how it got there.
